DiversityInc distributes the awards to companies who deliver exceptional results in four key areas of diversity management: talent pipeline, talent development, leadership accountability, and supplier diversity. Participation in the list has increased year over year, and in 2016 over 1,800 companies submitted surveys for consideration.
